INSULATIONS

DSM Global builds on more than 20 years of experience in industrial insulation, developed through continuous work on complex plants and demanding operating environments.
The company grew from hands on field experience into a structured organization focused on technical insulation for industrial and energy sectors.

Our approach is rooted in practical execution and technical competence.
The know how gained over decades is applied to projects in Italy and abroad, supporting industrial clients with reliable insulation solutions that improve efficiency, protect assets, and reduce energy waste.
We believe insulation plays a concrete role in both economic performance and environmental responsibility.

Services

Industrial insulation services for thermal and acoustic control in onshore and offshore installations.

Thermal insulation systems are designed to limit heat losses or gains, stabilize process temperatures, and improve overall thermal efficiency. Applications include piping, vessels, tanks, and static equipment operating at high or low temperatures. Insulation design is defined based on service temperature, ambient conditions, and mechanical protection requirements to ensure consistent performance over time.

Acoustic insulation systems are developed to reduce airborne and structure borne noise generated by industrial equipment and processes. Solutions are designed to achieve defined noise attenuation levels through material selection and system configuration, supporting personnel protection and compliance with site noise limits.

Performance

DSM insulation systems are engineered to deliver defined performance outcomes based on the functional purpose of the insulation system.
Thermal insulation is designed to optimize thermal efficiency by limiting heat transfer, stabilizing process temperatures, and reducing energy dispersion across piping, vessels, and equipment.
Insulation thickness and material selection are defined to meet required thermal resistance values under continuous operating conditions.

Protection

DSM insulation solutions are designed to control external surface temperatures, reducing burn hazards and limiting direct exposure to hot or cold surfaces in operational and maintenance areas.

Protective insulation systems also contribute to passive fire protection by delaying heat transmission to load bearing structures, pressure equipment, and critical process components, supporting structural integrity during fire scenarios. In addition, insulation acts as a barrier against environmental stressors such as thermal cycling, weather exposure, and mechanical impact, helping maintain stable operating conditions and reduce degradation risks in onshore and offshore installations.

DSM Global executes insulation works in compliance with applicable European Union Directives and their national implementing legislation, including Directive 89/391/EEC on occupational health and safety and Directive 92/57/EEC on temporary or mobile construction sites, together with laws governing workplace risk assessment, use of personal protective equipment, and handling of hazardous substances.

Where applicable, works are performed in accordance with legal requirements related to exposure to physical agents, including noise limits under Directive 2003/10/EC, vibration exposure under Directive 2002/44/EC, and chemical and thermal risk management pursuant to Directive 98/24/EC.

Insulation materials and systems are selected in conformity with applicable EN and ISO standards, including fire reaction classification in accordance with EN 13501-1 where required by the project scope.

All insulation activities are carried out in accordance with approved engineering documentation, statutory obligations applicable to industrial installations, including facilities subject to Directive 2012/18/EU (Seveso III), and client specific health, safety, and environmental requirements, ensuring traceability throughout material selection, installation, and final handover.
