ACOUSTIC INSULATION

Industrial insulation is often understood in simple terms as preventing heat loss from a system. While this idea is correct, it only captures part of its real function.

Insulation is a technical method used to limit the interaction between systems operating under different conditions. These interactions can involve heat transfer, sound transmission, or both. The objective is to control these exchanges in a precise and measurable way, depending on the required outcome.

At DSM Global, insulation is defined by the result to be achieved. Energy efficiency, personnel protection, process stability, noise reduction, or cryogenic control each require different design approaches, materials, and installation methods. The insulation system changes according to temperature range, operating environment, and performance targets.

For this reason, insulation is never a standard solution. It is a technical process that evolves with the application, the industry, and the operating conditions of the plant.

Acoustic Insulation Services

DSM Global designs and installs acoustic insulation systems based on measured noise levels, equipment type, vibration sources, and site constraints. Solutions are engineered to control both airborne noise and structure borne vibration. Soundproofing made in Italy.

Noise Barriers and Enclosures

We install custom acoustic barriers and enclosures for compressors, fans, pumps, and rotating machinery. Systems are built with high density rock wool cores and protected by metal or technical cladding to achieve effective noise reduction while maintaining durability in industrial environments.

Pipe and Duct Acoustic Insulation

DSM Global applies acoustic insulation to pipes, air ducts, and exhaust lines using high density mineral wool mattresses and layered systems. These solutions absorb sound and reduce vibration generated by fluid flow, fans, and mechanical stress.

Vibration Damping Systems

Vibration control solutions are installed under machinery and equipment using elastomeric pads and damping elements. This limits noise transmission through structures and reduces long term mechanical stress on supports and foundations.

Why You Should Choose Us

DSM Global designs acoustic insulation systems starting from sound pressure levels, dominant frequency bands, vibration transmission paths, and applicable noise limits. Solutions are defined to achieve specific dB(A) reductions at source, along transmission paths, or at plant boundaries.

Our scope includes compressors, turbines, pumps, fans, ducts, piping, and rotating equipment in oil and gas and industrial plants. Systems address both airborne noise and structure borne vibration through combined absorption, insulation, and damping techniques.

We use high density mineral wool with controlled airflow resistivity, elastomeric anti vibration materials, and multilayer acoustic panels.

Materials are selected based on absorption coefficients, transmission loss, fire rating, mechanical strength, and resistance to industrial exposure.

Installation details are engineered to avoid acoustic bridges, limit flanking transmission, and maintain long term performance under operating conditions. Design and execution follow project specifications and applicable European and international standards.

Installation

Thermal and acoustic insulation requires a case by case technical evaluation. Insulation methods vary depending on the required performance, the equipment involved, and the specific industrial process.

When a client contacts DSM Global, we carry out a technical assessment to define operating conditions, critical points, and performance targets.

Based on the collected data, we develop a tailored insulation solution designed for the plant.

DSM Global manages the full scope of work, from system definition to installation of insulation and protective cladding. When required, clients may also provide measurements directly, allowing us to prefabricate insulation components and complete installation on site.
